WHERE RQ PLATFORM GOES FURTHER
Submittable covers the same core programs. Here's what it doesn't cover at all:
A dedicated Mentorship product — mentor-mentee matching, goals and progress tracking, meeting logs, and group mentoring — plus a built-in Alumni Directory for keeping past recipients connected. Submittable supports grants, scholarships, awards, and fellowships well (confirmed on its own higher-ed solutions page), but a mentorship matching module and Alumni Networking do not appear as named use cases anywhere on Submittable's site. [1][2]
Costs that compound with usage — reviewers describe per-seat pricing that adds up ("the number of seats comes expensive"), and multiple reviewers report discovering added fees for features discussed during the sales process that weren't included in their subscription. [7]
No simultaneous multi-user access to the same application — one reviewer called this "the biggest thing we got negative feedback about." [7]
Application and reviewer/juror count limited by plan tier — one reviewer found this frustrating when running more than one project at a time. [7]

Three separate reviewers describe discovering costs they didn't expect. Pricing scales per seat, and one reviewer specifically flagged that "the number of seats comes expensive." Combined with pricing not being published for any tier, this is a recurring theme across reviews — several described the platform as difficult to sustain on a modest nonprofit budget. [7]
One reviewer said advanced reporting "can still feel limited when attempting highly detailed or multi-layered data pulls," despite improvements over time. [7]
No way to toggle between admin and reviewer views from the same login — multiple reviewers note this requires separate accounts or logins to see both perspectives. [7]
Application and reviewer/juror counts are limited by plan tier, which one reviewer found frustrating when running more than one project at a time. [7]
